Tips for the Best Cupcakes
• Make sure cupcakes are fully cooled before frosting
• Use oil-based food coloring for a vibrant red buttercream without thinning the frosting.
• Pipe tall swirls for a fun bakery-style cupcake look.
• Add sprinkles right after piping so they stick to the buttercream.

FAQ

1. Can I make these cupcakes ahead of time?
Yes. Bake the cupcakes 1 day in advance and store them in an airtight container. Frost them the day of the party for the freshest look.

2. Can I use gel food coloring instead of oil-based coloring?
Yes, gel coloring works well for buttercream. However, oil-based coloring can create very vibrant shades and blends smoothly into frosting.

3. How should I store leftover cupcakes?
Store cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 4 days.

4. Can I add watermelon flavor to the cupcakes?
Absolutely. You can add watermelon flavoring extract to the cupcake batter or buttercream for a stronger watermelon taste.

5. What piping tip works best for theses cupcakes?
A large star tip works beautifully to create tall swirls that hold sprinkles and decorations well.
